Holiday Lights in Louisville: It's Lit, Come Thru

'Tis the season for twinklin'!

There's nothing better than dazzling holiday lights to get you into the festive spirit. Luckily, Louisville is home to a number of amazing lights displays - some of which you're able to enjoy from the safety of your car.

We rounded up some of our favorite displays for you to check out, and if you're still in need of more holiday awesomeness, we've added some pop-ups and places to enjoy some festive cheer.

Lights Under Louisville

Where: 1841 Taylor Ave

Louisville Mega Cavern's Lights Under Louisville is perhaps the grandaddy of all of the holiday lights celebrations in the 502. Open now through Jan. 3,  the 30-minute drive through the twisty cavern includes over 40 themed displays, 850 lit characters, and over 5 million points of light that will surely inject some holiday-themed joy into your season.

Gardens Aglimmer

Where: Waterfront Botanical Gardens

At the Waterfront Botanical Gardens, visitors can enjoy self-guided walk through a magical and festive winter wonderland full of illuminated swans, snowflakes and oversized flowers.

OneWest's Winter Wonderland

Where: Shawnee Park

OneWest's Winter Wonderland is back for a second year. Winter Wonderland is a free drive-thru light show and display. The event will take place on December 15-17 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Shawnee Park. Once again, the event is free of charge and the entire city is invited to partake in the holiday cheer.


Neighborhood Holiday Pop-Ups

For the past several years, during the holiday season, Galaxie Bar transforms itself into Miracle on Market, a Christmas-themed pop-up bar that serves holiday cocktails in a festive setting, sure to get even the grouchiest Grinch into the holiday spirit. An you only have a couple days left to experience it this year.

Tinsel Tavern is taking over Pizza Bar at Fourth Street LIVE! Immerse yourself in this Holiday pop-up bar decked to the halls- literally, with floor to ceiling decor. Featuring a festive food & drink menu that absolutely sleighs, multiple photo ops, featured events, and more! Bar seating will be available on a first come first serve basis, optimal for drinks and socializing. In addition to visiting with an intimate group, guests have the option to reserve the space for private events, ideal for end of season holiday parties.

A great place to spend part of your holiday season is at Paristown's Fete de Noel, a six-week winter festival featuring Louisville's only authentic outdoor ice-skating rink. Plus shop at the Brent Street Holiday Market or at Stoneware & Co. Visit Santa in his brand new Santa's Workshop or add some excitement to your holiday in the all-new Spirits of Scrooge Escape Room. Enjoy some food & drink or one of the special events in Paristown!

DON'T FORGET: Light Up Louisville 2023 will now be held on Saturday 12/2, but you can see the downtown lights in Jefferson Square and City Hall through the New Year!
