DECCA RESTAURANT JOINS FORCES WITH THE ACCLAIMED PATRICIA WELLS FOR A FIVE-COURSE FEAST
Chef Annie Pettry invites guests for a celebratory spring wine dinner, featuring recipes from the iconic cookbooks of Patricia Wells
On Sunday, April 26, Chef Annie Pettry of Decca will host renowned journalist, author, cooking instructor, and Midwesterner-turned- Parisian, Patricia Wells, bringing her distinguished French cuisine from Provence to the plates of Louisville. For the five-course wine dinner, Chef Pettry will serve her interpretations of recipes selected from Wells’ 14 James Beard award-winning cookbooks, beginning in 1984 with the publication of The Food Lover’s Guide to Paris. Honored as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et de Lettres by the French government for her contributions to French culture, and the only female restaurant critic in France, Patricia now teaches sold-out cooking classes in Paris and Provence, applying an eclectic style to classic bistro cuisine.
Toasting to the spring season, guests are invited to enjoy a feast for friends and Francophiles alike. Chef Annie’s menu will combine her French technique and penchant for exotic spices with Patricia’s Provincial sensibility, while utilizing local ingredients of the region. The five-course dinner will feature wine pairings from European Cellars, including Patricia’s own wine, Clos Chanteduc Côtes du Rhône. Once the last fork goes down, Patricia will host a cookbook signing for guests. Chef Annie’s menu for the night will include:
· Scallop Carpaccio with Lemon & Vanilla
· Salad of Spring Vegetables with Blue Cheese & Buttermilk Dressing
· Pan Roasted Duck with Olives
· Honey Lavender Ice Cream Sandwiches with Lemon Cookie & Cashew
