- Enter through the Crittenden Drive gates to avoid the big crowds of the main entrance.
- Don't buy a drink without a lid before you go to the area with the animals.
- Wear closed-toe shoes if you plan to go into the animal area.
- Bring a refillable water bottle.
- If you're on a budget, you can bring your own food and drinks to the fair.
- The North Wing lobby usually has the cleanest bathrooms.
- If you're going to eat one of the unusual foods at the fair (deep-fried Oreos, a donut burger, loaded macaroni and cheese), do so near the end of your visit, or you run the risk of being sluggish for the entire day.
- Get to the Miller's Border Collie show at least a half hour before the start time so you can get a good seat.
